Using the RVC Catalog

Renewing library material:

1. Visit the library's homepage on the RVC website and find the link to the RVC Library Catalog near our contact information.
2. Select Sign in, near the top right corner.
3. Log in using your student or staff sign-in credentials, or your community patron card number and password.
4. Click on your name at the top right of the webpage, and select My Loans.
5. In the list, find the book you need to renew and click the "Renew" button at the end of the row.

How to search for books:

1. Visit the library's homepage on the RVC website and find the link to the RVC Library Catalog near our contact information.
2. Find the link to the RVC Library Catalog near the library's contact information.
3. Type the name of the book you're looking for, or a genre or subject you would like to browse, into the search bar and hit search.

How to search for articles:

1. Visit the library's homepage on the RVC website and find the link to the RVC Library Catalog near our contact information.
2. Change the search settings from "RVC Library Catalog" to "Articles" and begin searching.

Journal Search:

1. Visit the library's homepage on the RVC website and find the link to the RVC Library Catalog near our contact information.
2. At the very top of the page, click the link that says "Journal Search".
3. Search for journals by name or browse our journal subscriptions by clicking through the "Journals by category" section on the left-hand side of the screen.

While articles and journals can be accessed from the RVC Catalog, our database subscriptions are much more detailed. If searching here doesn't return results, try searching in the RVC Databases.

I-Share:

1. Visit the library's homepage on the RVC website and find the link to the RVC Library Catalog near our contact information.
2. Search for the title you're looking for.
3. If the Estelle M. Black Library does not own a copy, or our copy is unavailable, change the search settings from "RVC Library Catalog" to "All I-Share Libraries".
4. Open the record of the title you want to request.
5. Scroll down to the section titled "How to Get It" and log in where prompted.
6. Select the box labeled "I-Share", wait for the form to populate, and select "Send Request" at the bottom of the form.

Interlibrary Loaning (ILL):

1. Visit the library's homepage on the RVC website and find the link to the ILL Request Form under the section labeled "Still Looking?".
2. Complete the form by entering your contact information, the type of content you're looking for (book, DVD, article), and some information to help us find it (title, author, director.).
3. Submit the form. Once the library has received the material you requested, you'll be contacted by email or phone.
