Refining Your Results

After hitting search, you might find that there are thousands of results. You can reduce the number of results to the most relevant options by using the "Refine your results" menu on the left hand side of the page.

 

Availability: Search for eBooks by selecting "Available online" or browse only the books RVC physically owns by selecting "Held by library".

Subject: This menu shows all of the different subject headings returned by your search. Explore the different subject headings to find related material.

Location: Search for material by collection, including our children's collection, reference collection, and circulating collection.

Resource Type: Set the type of material you're searching for here. Settings can be changed to allow you to search for books, articles, CDs, and DVDs.

Creation Date: Avoid searching for outdated publications by restricting the search period.

Tools

Citation: Generates citations across citation styles for your works cited or bibliography page. Includes MLA, APA, Chicago, and other common citation styles.

Email: Email yourself or your group members a permalink to the article.

Print: Print or save this result as a PDF.

Export: Save article references directly to external services like RefWorks, EndNote, EasyBib, BibTex, and RIS.

Permalink: Generate a shareable permalink to return to this entry again without having to search for it.
